Methods
of Ordering:
The important
thing here is that we understand what you want to order. If you are not
sure, please call and discuss your project with us.
When you order we will need the obvious
information such as your name, address, phone and other contact
information. To avoid confusion or lots of phone calls back and forth,
please provide the following for each product:
Catalog number, amount of units, description
(including size) and price. For example, if you wanted a 25 lb. pail of
UltraCal 30 you would write something like:
3 each, CAL30-25, UltraCal - 25# bag, $25.00 each
Of course the best method is to just download and
print off the order form
and fill it out.
Please
don't forget, our minimum order is $25 USD.
Please use the
method that you are most comfortable with.
On Line Orders
(Want to
know shipping costs?)
This is the best method, and is secure. First,
visit the product information pages and organize your order. Then click
on
the link at the bottom of your product list to see your options.
Fax Orders (Keeps us both organized.)
This is the second best method, it forces both
of us to be organized, and is the most secure. Get our Generic Order Form or
create your own. Fax it to us at 801-936-9763.
NOTE: It is a good idea to send me
e-mail from your e-mail service so that the lines of communication can
be opened. I rarely can read an e-mail address from a FAX.
E-mail Orders (Easy for both of us, but not good for a
rush order.)
You may place an order through our e-mail form. For your
own safety, please use the secure
e-mail if you will be sending credit card numbers.
You may also send an e-mail from your own e-mail service. In fact, it's
a good idea. That way, the lines of communication can be opened for
sure.
Phone Orders (Best if you have questions or a rush order.)
Call 801-936-9762 Monday
through Friday from about 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. We also have a new
toll-free number for ordering: 1-888-648-8810.
If no one answers, please leave a message and we'll return your call as
soon as we get back from lunch, errands or charm school. For rush
orders please call before noon, Mountain Time. NOTE:
It is a good idea to send me e-mail from your e-mail service so that
the lines of communication can be opened.
Mail Orders (Best if you want to pay with a check or
money order.)
Get our Generic
Order Form or create your own. Mail it to:
Special Effect Supply Corp.
164 East Center Street
North Salt Lake UT 84054
Don't forget to include your phone
number and email address. Please write clearly.
Shipping
and Shipping Costs:
Domestic
shipping charges are based on the actual cost of shipping and
insurance, plus a small handling fee. In order to keep the cost to you
as low as possible, we have discontinued the use of Shipping Tables. If
you need an estimate please call or send e-mail. For explanation of our
shipping strategy and policy please go HERE.
Generally Your Choices for Shipping include:
UPS Ground (our default method)
UPS Overnight Saver
UPS Second Day Air (Blue Label)
UPS Three Day Select
USPS Priority Mail
FEDEX - if we use your account number (They screw
us if we use ours.)
Important
Note: Air service is extremely expensive, please be prepared to spend
$80 or more for overnight delivery of a small package.
We do everything we
can to keep shipping costs as low as possible. After many years of
significant losses in shipping costs, we must now charge $2.00 to $5.00
for "handling" and packaging materials. This fee helps to cover the
fuels surcharge that is in effect for most of our shippers. The
handling fee is determined by the size of the shipment, the speed of
delivery and the amount of aggravation generated by last minute changes
and the like.
We no longer quote
shipping charges, but can give you an estimate, or, you can estimate
shipping costs yourself by going to UPS
Web site or the USPS
Web site.
Important Note:
We hate to pay shipping charges as much as you do. If we charge fifty
bucks to ship something to you, it means we have to pay to turn around
and pay the carrier fifty bucks for his services. We don't get any real
discount from UPS and none from the Postal Service. For the big long
explanation of domestic shipping charges, please go HERE.
Items Marked
with an "S"
Items marked with an "S" require us to calculate
shipping charges for you because these items are extra heavy, are
hazardous materials, or require some other special packaging
consideration. Barrels and pail s that are round require a $5.00 "Extra
Handling" charge from UPS. More
information on "S" shipping charges.

If you have any other questions regarding how we
do stuff, please read our policy page. This includes information on
